Elect Eagle Elite Book 2 edition by Rachel Van Dyken Literature Fiction eBooks
Elect is the second novel in Rachel Van Dyken’s Eagle Elite series. The story picks up after the end of the first book Elite. Thank heavens because I was so not done with Trace and Nixon or the rest of the Elect.Trace found herself thrown into the complex and confounding world of the Elect in book one. Now she knows more about herself and the people she loves. She’s also landed in quite a bit of hot water. It’s a good thing she has two fine men to pull her out of it.
Nixon is forced to take drastic measures to protect the people he loves. He often alienates them in the process. As if he didn’t have enough to worry about, the looks he sees his best friend and right-hand man giving his woman have him on the edge of one hell of a precipice.
Chase is in love with his best friend’s girl. He’s forced to stay by Trace’s side 24/7. His honor and duty to Nixon are at war with the intense emotions Trace provokes. He must decide whether the love of his best friend or Trace is more important. And he must decide quick because it’s likely both are going to get him killed.
A lot of readers are rolling their eyes right now because they hate triangles. Have no fear this is not your typical triangle. While both Nixon and Chase are in love with Trace it doesn’t become an adolescent back and forth story. Trace is not the kind of woman to string men along. Elect is driven by emotion and circumstance. It’s freaking hard to get my own feelings about Elect on the page because my heart was pulled in so many directions.
While Elite was told from Trace’s point of view Elect is told from Nixon and Chase’s. I truly enjoyed this creative format from Ms. Van Dyken. It gives the reader a clearer look into the psyche of these characters. It’s easy to see and feel why the characters are so conflicted about their feelings. I highly recommend you read this series in order to enjoy and understand everything going on.
I don’t want to give the major stuff away, but I will say these characters are thrust into some dangerous situations that will leave the reader breathless.
The Eagle Elite series has rapidly become one of my favorites. This is probably the first series I’ve read that has successfully gotten the feelings of the characters across without including detailed sex scenes. It’s not a behind closed doors series entirely. There is sex and it’s powerful without getting very graphic. Rachel Van Dyken gives the reader so much emotion it’s not necessary for the sex to be a focal point. I was shocked that after two books I am so in love with these characters that I don’t miss the sex. I know there are plenty of books out there that don’t feature sex, but I was surprised because of the world the characters find themselves in. This genre is generally known to be rated R. Well, I can honestly say I never expected to have a detailed conversation about sex in one of my reviews.
Elect is a lust filled novel that will have your toes curling. Action and romance never looked this good! You will want to snuggle up with the Eagle Elite all night long. I know I did. I do think I will have to sleep before moving on to book 3, Entice.

Elect Eagle Elite Book 2 edition by Rachel Van Dyken Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Ugh! I can't even deal with how much I love these books so far! This book is different in that we get to see each chapter from a different character as RVD weaves this web of lies, betrayal, and bravery. I don't know how she keeps everything straight since there's so many characters and so much action but she does it beautifully. She captures you from the first page and drags you through her web.
Nixon, Trace, and Chase are suck in this love triangle that non of them expected or wanted. Phoenix is still out there with answers that he won't give. Frank is in hiding, and Uncle Tony is acting weird, and an unexpected ally shows up to try and save them all. Some truths will be revealed....just enough to leave you wanting so much more
3.5 stars. So I really loved the first book and I will be reading the third book but this one was a disappointment. It was just a long drawn out dialogue about how much Chase loves Tracey and how much Nixon is selfless. I did not connect to any of the characters and it took me almost a year to finish.
The writing was good, the story flowed and was well planed out, if a bit muddled at times. I liked the characters and their personalities, I just did like the book. There was too much emotional pain tgat was all self induced. Any reader knows how tge story is going to play out from the first page, so what was the purpose of the story? Tge only redeeming factors for me was knowing who the bad guy is and some of the secrets reveiled.
Oh well. I can't love every book and while I am glad I read this story, I won't be reading it again. Like I said though, I am off to read book three because I love this series and this author!
Elite and Elect are the perfect set up for the Eagle Elite Mafia series. I am OBSESSED with this story. Whenever an author can write a story that has you changing your opinion every chapter you know its a great read! Although Chapter 8 will ALWAYS be my deciding moment but I will leave that for you to judge.
I love a bad boy with a sensitive side and this book is full of them. I never thought I would enjoy a mafia storyline but I cant get enough. The intricate way Rachel intertwines these characters and their personal journeys kept me wanting to sneak read this book everywhere I went! (I ended up downloading the audible just to listen to it at work!)
Nixon makes me furious most of the time but then manages to say just the right thing and I feel like I am holding an arm full of fluffy puppies riding a rainbow on a magical unicorn.,...ya I let a fictional character sweet talk me into loving him even though I shouldn't
Chase makes me want to climb inside the book and hug him and never let go. Always putting his own feeling aside for the good of the family, until he finally makes a selfish move. Even then I found myself cheering him on knowing that the odds were stacked against him.
Trace I haven't quite made a decision on just yet. I have issue with her loyalty and her how quickly she can be swayed. Although I know her heart has been twisted and torn out, I dont know that I would be able to make the choices she made. LOL again a fictional character making me feel some kind of way. Her endearing personality and her ridiculous love for cows makes up for the times I wanted to shake her and say WHAT ARE YOU DOING??
I loved this book, I loved the storyline,I loved the things I didnt see coming,I loved the lol moments and the times I wanted to cry....BUT the last 6 words of this book OMG what the hell are you doing to me Rachel Van Dyken??!
